Dr. Franco Salerno, Senior Researcher at the Institute of Polar Research, Italy is giving a talk titled ‘Research activities in the high Himalayas: findings and prospectives’ at the Central Department of Environmental Science, Tribhuvan University. The talk is organized on 2 November 2022 at 11:00.
Dr. Salerno holds a master’s degree in natural science and PhD in environmental science from the University of Milan. He worked for over 15 years for the Pyramid Laboratory in the Mt Everest region managed by the Ev-K2-CNR. His works are focused on the impacts of climate change on the quantity and quality of water bodies; morphological dynamics of the cryosphere (mainly rocks and glaciers); hydro-meteorological analysis and modeling; adapting strategies to climate change; and ecosystem services in the Himalayas and the Alps. He has authored more than 75 international ISI papers; and he works as the Editor for Global and Planetary Change, Sustainability, and Journal of Mountain Science. He is an advisor for the Nepal Journal of Environmental Science published by the Central Department of Environmental Science, Tribhuvan University.
