On 13 June 2021, a half-day seminar was conducted on ‘Water quality measurement of the Ramsar Sites outside the protected area, Nepal’, jointly organized by the Central Department of Environmental Science (CDES), Institute of Science and Technology, Tribhuvan University and the Department of Forests and Soil Conservation (DoFSC), Ministry of Forests and Environment, Government of Nepal.

The program was chaired by Prof. Dr. Rejina Maskey Byanju (head of the department, CDES), the chief guest was Prof. Shankar Bhandari (member secretary, the University Grants Commission), and the special guest was Mr. Badri Raj Dhungana (Deputy General Secretary of DoFSC). Dr. Ramesh Raj Pant welcomed all the participants and highlighted the program with major findings of the research activities.

There were four presentations by MSc students of the CDES on research findings from Ghodaghodi Lake, Jagadishpur Reservoir, Phewa Lake, and Mai Pokhari; namely, Anueve Acharya, Barsha Khanal, Rojesh Timilsina, and Prekshya Subedi, respectively. The presentation was followed by technical remarks by Prof. Dr. Chhatra Mani Sharma, Dr. Udhab Raj Khadka, Sujan Maharjan, Prakash Singh Thapa, Dr. Lal B. Thapa, and Dr. Deep Narayan Shah. There was an open discussion on the presentation, followed by remarks of the special guest and the chief guest. A vote of thanks was delivered by Pasang Tamang (DoFSC). Finally, the seminar was formally closed by the Chair of the program.
