Dr. Franco Salerno, Senior Researcher at the Institute of Polar Research, Italy delivered a talk titled ‘Research activities in the high Himalayas: findings and prospectives’ at the Central Department of Environmental Science, Tribhuvan University. The talk was organized on 2 November 2022 at the CDES premises.
Dr. Salerno shared the research works on the high-altitude Himalayas, particularly the Mt. Everest region, during the last three decades. The program was attended by Professors, PhD students, and MSc students that went for two hours. The vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. Kedar Rijal and the token of love was handed over by Prof. Dr. Chhatra Mani Sharma. Also present in the program were Prof. Dr. Deepak Aryal, Prof. Dr. Udhab Raj Khadka, Dr. Ramesh Prasad Sapkota, Dr. Shalikram Sigdel, and Mr. Raju Chauhan. The program concluded by sharing the possibilities of collaboration between the two institutions.
